In February 2024, after four years as an artist member, I stepped into the role of Shop Manager, and now Program Director, at the Mancos Common Press in Mancos, Colorado. This position brings together everything I have done throughout my life, making it more than just a job—it’s a renewed dedication to art and community. To say I’ve found new purpose would be an understatement.
Discovering the lost art of letterpress printing using antique presses has been both exciting and deeply rewarding. Even more fulfilling has been the opportunity to help expand our print center, creating a space that is open to the community through memberships, education, events, and activities. This experience has also reignited my passion for printmaking techniques I’ve explored in the past, including monotypes, photogravure, and collagraphs.
